What exercise did you do before CrossFit?
Everything! Bootcamp, DVDs, running, elliptical.
What was your first exposure to CrossFit?
I remember seeing my crew lifting heavy weights, and thinking, “WOW! I wish I could do that.” My first WOD was a 10 minute AMRAP. It was 10 hang squat cleans and 25 situps. I used a 15# training barbell, and I hurt all over.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CrossFit?
Changes beyond my imagination. I feel strong and confident in what I can achieve. I feel like a new woman!
Please share with us any favorite CrossFit moments or accomplishments:
The Endless Summer Challenge was life changing, but my most memorable moments was when I first got my toes to the bar. I was giddy!!
What are your hobbies, interests or talents outside of CrossFit?
Spending time with loved ones. My family and my friends energize me.
Tell us something interesting or surprising about yourself.
I never thought I would love working out as much as I do, and I never would have thought cooking was enjoyable.
Who inspires you as an athlete?
My M/W/Th 5:30 Crew!
What is your favorite Paleo Meal?
Chocolate chili and kale salad – YUM-O!
What music pumps you up during a WOD?
Hip hop, anything with a beat.
Any advice for people just getting started?
Don’t be intimidated by the movements. The coaches and your classmates will help you achieve a better you. I promise!
