What exercise did you do before CrossFit?

Walked, ran a bit, elliptical machine.

What was your first exposure to CrossFit?

Watching Gena Wueste’s commitment and love of CrossFit. Seeing the changes in her body really showed me this program works.

Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel?

Don’t remember specific wod but do remember how hard I worked and how my body ached for days!

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CrossFit?

I am much stronger than I used to be. Lifting all the Christmas boxes out of the attic was a true indicator of how much more I could hold with less effort. I am much more aware of how using your own body to build strength is KEY!

Do you have any favorite CrossFit moments or accomplishments?

The 24 day challenge for sure! I have NEVER stuck to or committed myself to a health program like this challenge… SO happy I did. For the first time, I am losing pounds, inches and becoming a stronger me! There might be hope for me after all!

What are your hobbies, interests or talents outside of CrossFit?

Hanging with my family, cooking with friends, skiing, hanging with my labs.

What is your favorite Paleo Meal?

Flank steak, roasted brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes!!!

What music pumps you up during a WOD?

Good ole gangster music…snoop dog and Eminem and play it LOUD please!

Who inspires you as an athlete?

Gena Wueste…her commitment, motivation and encouragement to my success is priceless! We have climbed Mt. Whitney & Half Dome, ran a Mud Run, and suffered through a Marine Beach Boot Camp together… In every instance, she was my driving force. You don’t have to be a PRO to inspire!!!

What advice would you give people just getting started?

Don’t be afraid to be uncomfortable…do as much as you can and know that’s more than not doing anything at all! No pain no gain…and if you throw up on the side of the building or pee your pants…you are on the right track!!!
