Ali Adams
As a lifelong competitive athlete, Ali participated in multiple sports including soccer, softball, volleyball, and track and field. She played softball for UCLA where she competed on the 2003 NCAA Division I National Champion Softball team. After earning her Bachelor’s degree from UCLA in 2005, she accepted a position as Director of Operations in the UCLA Softball program.
Ali found CrossFit shortly after her time at UCLA and has never looked back. She has experienced firsthand the profound changes brought about by CrossFit. Her passion now is to bring that life change to other women.
She is motivated by helping women push through barriers and realize they CAN do CrossFit, by seeing the joy and empowerment of someone achieving a personal goal, and by witnessing women leading healthy lifestyles that lead to overall satisfaction and motivation for life.
Ali is CrossFit Level 1 Certified. She leads CrossFit Fly Crews and is available for personal training. She can be reached at ali@crossfitfly.com or 714.809.3431
Laura Olvera
As a competitive collegiate athlete, Laura took an interest in the weight room. She loved the feeling of power she got from doing olympic lifts. This confidence and strength transferred to her competitions and she reached her goal of qualifying for the 2006 NCAA Division I Cross Country Nationals. She was introduced to crossfit by her weight coach and was fascinated by the challenge of using a barbell lift in such a high intensity setting.
As her interest in weightlifting and crossfit grew she found herself taking more and more yoga classes to counter balance the mental and physical intensity of being an athlete. She became so convinced that yoga is the key complementary factor to any sport that she became a Registered Yoga Alliance (200hr) Instructor and earned her CorePower Hot Yoga Certification. Upon graduation from UCI, Laura accepted a position as the Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for UCI Athletics where she coached five Division I teams and taught yoga classes to student athletes.
Laura still enjoys competition. Recently, she won 1st place at the 2011 OC Wahoos 5k (pictured right). She is very passionate about crossfit, yoga, and running and helping others use these tools to live happier and healthier lives!
Laura is CrossFit Level 1 Certified, CrossFit Olympic Lifting Certified, leads CrossFit Fly Crews, and is available for personal training. She can be reached at laura@crossfitfly.com or 562.355.5620
