get out and play!

In honor of this week’s International Surfing Day on June 20, why not head out to the beach this weekend and catch some waves?  International Surfing Day is a chance to celebrate the lovely sport of surfing, as well as give back to the coastal environments that sustain this sport!  Orange County has no shortage of coastline from which you can set up camp, take in the sun and enjoy some fresh saltwater.  Bring some friends and family, a cooler full of water and veggie snacks, sunscreen, and you are set for the day!  Some of the beaches boast a plethora of campfire pits, which will keep your party going into the evening.

For those of you that keep our planet close to your heart, an organized beach clean up is scheduled for Saturday, June 23 at Huntington State Beach.  This includes a surf session, stand up paddleboard lesson, and a tent village with food, music and coffee.  For those of you who enjoy a little spirited socializing, A Restaurant is hosting “Clean Up, Drink Up” on Saturday, June 23 from 5-7pm on behalf of the Newport Beach Surfrider Chapter.
